Week 48 - 08/02/12

London RoadThe summer Olympic games are taking place and I'm on my way to London.  How cool is that! Wouldn't it be great if I could get there in time to see the athletes, a couple events, and the closing ceremonies? Yes... Of course it would! But that's not going to happen. Not this trip.

My trip to London is part of the PEMCO Insurance Wellness program for the summer.  It started on July 27th and is open to all PEMCO employees. For each exercise activity that we participate it (which includes less obvious calorie burners like gardening and chopping firewood) we are credited with distance that moves us along the path to London.  It's encouraging to see so many of us making the trip - and it gives me another way to keep my focus on the journey to a healthier life.

Ive made it to Mount Rushmore in the first week. I'm going to pick up the pace and see if I can get out of the United States before the end of next week. Wish me luck!
