"Fitness - if it came in a bottle, everybody would have a great body." ~Cher

WorkoutExercise has never been something that I've looked forward to. Nor does it come naturally to me. Exercise, especially the kind that involves moving rapidly (running) or hoisting heavy objects (weight lifting), always felt like things to avoid. They just didn't seem like fun.

Now don't get me wrong, I've exercised plenty. As an adult, the spurts of insanity usually took place during the months of January and February - right after making another New Year's resolution.

I've paid way more than my share of gym and health club dues too. The best part of that was the sauna, massage, and hot tub. Now that's my kind of exercise.

No... it shouldn't surprise anyone that you haven't been reading much about my exercise routine during the first 22 weeks of my healthy edge journey. Cindy and I canceled our health club membership after the girls went to college. We did a little walking through the neighborhood and that lasted at least a few days. To commit to exercising would take this commitment to another level. I've thought about it and don't want to over promise and under deliver. But I've been quietly practicing in the background.

A few years ago we bought a Precor elliptical trainer for use in our home. For a long time it was doing a great job... as an extra clothes rack. Now that has changed. I've been getting on that arm-swinging high stepping contraption for several weeks now. I just didn't tell you about it. I wanted to give myself a chance to back out. But I didn't. So add to the commitment a new level of exercise. I'll summarize it along with my weight each week. Together, we'll see how it goes. You know how much I hate to exercise!

exercise (as defined in the urban dictionary): Something you don't do because you spend too much time on the internet.

Yep... That definitoin works for me!
