Week 20 - 01/19/12

Strategic Planning Is Heavy Work

Yogurt for breakfast. Salads for lunch. A salad or fish for dinner. Skipped deserts and ate apple slices and rice cakes for snacks during the day. Put that into a diet for three days of the week and a guy should be able to look forward to a pretty good weekly weigh in.

That's what I thought, but it didn't work out like that at all.

Ludlow 2Last Sunday I was down to a new low of 281.4 pounds. That's where I stood when I left the house for a PEMCO executive planning retreat in Port Ludlow on Sunday afternoon. We talked, considered, debated and planned for three days. While we were there it showed, froze and blew throughout the northwest. And we continued through our material in order to make the progress that we had planned.  On Wednesday afternoon we loaded our cars and headed to the ferry dock for our return trip home. We'd completed some heavy work.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the only thing that was heavy. To my surprise (sort of) I gained four pounds in the three days that I was away from home. That offset the two pounds that I'd lost in the first few days of the week and, for only the second time in twenty weeks, my weight had gone in the wrong direction.

That's unfortunate but it's not worth being upset about.  I'll just refocus myself, workout a little extra over the weekend, and look forward to turning myself around for next weeks report. Stay tuned!
