I used this slide as part of my presentation at the Content Marketing Retreat last week. In business as in life, desire and measurement tools aren't enough to create change. You have to GET MOVING and DO SOMETHING!

Don't just stand there!

After my recent unexpected reversal of direction, when I gained a pound or two, I really didn’t know what to expect when weigh in day rolled around this week. There are weeks when I feel like I’m doing well and the scale reminds me that I’m not. There are other times when I worry about stepping onto the “measurement of mass machine” and I end up being surprised and delighted. Even though I check in between weekly recordings, there are surprises that seem to come from out of the blue.

It turns out that this week was one of the good ones – and a reminder that I’m going to hit bumps in the road occasionally. I can’t let those little moments of discomfort keep me from continuing the journey. By my calculation I’m getting close to being half way to the planned destination. I’m confident that there will be more bumps and some side trips along the way. The next anticipated major challenge appears in about three weeks when Cindy and I head off for a weeklong cruise in the sunny Caribbean.

Who can offer me advice – an edge – for how to cruise and maintain my weight? Any suggestions?
